Events at St. Agnes

Our school calendar is full of special events for our students and families, and we hope you’ll participate in as many as you’re able.

The Wheel-A-Thon (WAT) is our first on-campus event every year. Its primary purpose is to raise money to fund class field trips, and it’s the only source of field trip funds. What makes it special is that the students are actively working to earn the money they raise. Secondarily – and just as importantly – it’s a fun event that focuses on being active and banding together to cheer on our schoolmates. Parent participation is key to the success of this event, both as volunteers and as cheer crews.

The Bocce Tournament is the Development Committee’s annual fundraiser. It’s an adult-only event and a chance to hang out with other parents during the day, enjoy lunch and cocktails, and put your name in for lots of great raffle items. Parents play in teams and each team has a theme. Get creative with it! The Development Committee’s fundraising is responsible for the addition of our Cauchi Hall building, and for scholarship and tuition assistance to St. Agnes students.

The students perform at our annual Christmas Concert and Spring Play. Both are major productions and not to be missed. Afternoon and evening shows are offered for each, so parents who work can attend. Get there early and line up outside to ensure you’ll get a good seat.

Catholic Schools Week launches with Mass and Open House. It’s great to see the projects each class has displayed, so don’t miss visiting all the classrooms. The book sale is a major part of this day, so prepare yourself to stand in line while your kids shop. But know that the book sale takes place over a few days during the school week, so there’s no need to rush in on Open House day if you can come another day (it’s open until 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, the week following Open House).

During Catholic Schools Week, there are daily themes and activities including crazy hair, crazy socks, themed outfits (e.g. yellow and black for Spelling Bee day), and various assemblies. Please adhere to communicated guidelines, which includes no dye or sprays (even washable) for hair.

The annual St. Agnes Gala Auction is put on by the PACE Committee. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and its success is instrumental in the realization of many special projects. Staff, students, parents, and families all participate in this event.

The PACE Committee puts on several other special events throughout the year for our families and students. Information about each will be provided in your Family Envelope and posted online as the events grow near:
• Father-Daughter Dance
• Mother-Son Adventure
• Fall Fest
• Breakfast with Santa
• Ice Cream Social

We hope you join us in these fun activities.
